Couple Appreciation Month: Ten Things I Appreciate About My Husband

April is officially Couple Appreciation Month. What better reason to note ten of the many things I appreciate most about my husband. These are in no particular order, of course…prepare yourself for a sappy, sappy post. Its how I roll.

#1 He is such an amazing, caring, involved father to all three of his boys. What they say is true, seeing your husband as a father makes you fall in love with him even more.

#2 He has broadened my horizons in so many ways. Before I met him, I had no idea about comic books, movies, all things nerdy, and I hated scary movies. Now, I understand what he is talking about when he gives me the rundown of the latest Superman v. Batman movie, and I crave a good scary movie.

#3 He is the complete package. My husband is my best friend, he is my boyfriend, and he is my partner in crime. He is the father to my son, and he is my rock. He is the love of my life.

#4 From day one, my husband has always paid attention to the little things. Whether that means slipping love notes and Moon Pies in my purse, or bringing home my favorite treat, my husband is constantly doing little things to let me know that he is thinking about me.

#5 He is patient with me, and this is saying a lot. I suffer from anxiety, and he knows exactly how to handle me on my toughest of days. And, he loves me regardless of all my many, many, many quirks.

#6 He is really, really handsome. Like, all the time. Whether he is dressed to the nines, or in his glasses and PJs, my hubby is just a gorgeous guy. Now, I know this sounds shallow, but not a day goes by that I don’t look at him and marvel at just how handsome he is.

#7 I enjoy doing anything and everything with him. There’s no one I’d rather travel with, shared jokes with, and spend the rest of my life with.

#8 He is driven. My husband has a steady flow of goals and is constantly working toward achieving them. He is happy, but not content. He’s always seeking to improve himself in some way or another. It so inspiring.

#9 He is encouraging. He is always encouraging me to follow my own dreams, and to do what makes me happy. When I quit teaching to attend beauty school, he supported me. When I discussed becoming a yoga teacher, he supported me. Its a great feeling knowing he has my back.

#10 Most importantly, my husband is hilarious. We are able to clown around with one another all of the time.  Not many people get to see his silly side. I do. He gives me something to smile about each and every day.

These are just a few of the bazillion things I love about my hubby. I am one lucky girl.

  • Very sweet!!! I would say some of the same things about my hubby – he makes me laugh, has opened my eyes to so many new experiences, is very patient with my quirks and insecurities, and is definitely my best friend. 🙂 Thanks for linking up!

    • Its so nice to have all those qualities in a husband! I suppose that is what makes them “keepers!” 🙂

  • What a lovely tribute to your husband, Amy. You say #10 is most important, and I completely agree. My husband’s sense of humor is what initially attracted me, and it still does, 25 years later.

    • Can you imagine being married to someone with no sense of humor? I shudder at the thought! 🙂
