Baby Bump: Week to Week

My Second Baby Bump: 33 Weeks Pregnant

I am 33 weeks pregnant this week, and I have hit my “wall.” Don’t get me wrong, I love being pregnant, but there have been some changes this week in how I feel, overall, and I will be happy to be done being pregnant, soon.

At 33 Weeks Pregnant…

How big is baby? 33 weeks pregnant, baby is the size of a bunch of celery, or a honeydew melon  (17.2 inches, 4.19 lbs)

Weight gain:  I think that my weight gain is holding steady, even with the Thanksgiving holiday. I am finding that I can eat much less, and I am just not as hungry as I have been.

Symptoms: In addition to all of the body aches and pains, and lack of sleep, I have developed a lovely rash across my entire belly. If you are unfamiliar with PUPPS, it is a hive-like rash that can cover your entire body. Right now, it is limited to my stomach, but holy mackerel am I uncomfortable, especially at night when it tends to get worse. I am hoping my doctor will have some suggestions to help get rid of it!

Appointments: No appointments this week, but next week we begin our weekly appointments. Due to my age, I will also be receiving ultrasounds at each appointment, which I am actually really looking forward to, even though it makes the appointments SUPER long!

Maternity clothes: No new maternity clothes this week! But I have been buying a few things for my hospital bag (cozy pants, slippers, a nursing bra, etc). I don’t think I will need any other maternity clothes to get me through the next seven weeks.

What I’m loving about pregnancy: Even though I feel horrible, I am really enjoying preparing for baby. This week, Brooks has been asking to smooch my belly…a lot. It’s like he senses that mommy is uncomfortable, and baby is coming. I am really loving being pregnant during the holidays as well, as its chilly, and perfectly fine to stay in and be cozy!

What I’m missing most during pregnancy: At Thanksgiving I definitely missed my wine, and I know I will miss eggnog in the coming weeks! I told my husband, once the baby is born, I want a nice Pinot Grigio!

Cravings and Aversions: I think, at this point, I won’t be experiencing any cravings or aversions. But I am definitely enjoying my spicy food. And we are still enjoying Thanksgiving leftovers, which seem to be extra delicious this year (macaroni and cheese, and German chocolate pie…need I say more?)

I am looking forward to:  I am looking forward to next week’s appointment, and I can’t wait to watch holiday movies, drink apple cider, and begin putting presents under the tree!

Staying fit: I did go to the gym this week. Once. And it hurt. I walked on the treadmill for about 30 minutes, but the entire time I felt like I should get off of the treadmill. The baby is really low, so it was very uncomfortable, and my back was really aching. I am not ruling the gym out yet, though. We will head back next week, and give it another try.

Our family:  We ended up waiting to put up the Christmas tree until the end of this week, but it was so, so fun. Brooks had such a great time, and you can tell that he is beginning to feel that Christmas magic. Once we got the tree up, he couldn’t wait to “decorate with bells and baubles.” Where he heard that, I have no idea. But he did such a great job of placing ornaments on the tree. I will say, its a little “bottom heavy” in terms of the decorations, but that is what happens when you are three feet tall.

Currently reading: Once again I have been slacking in regard to reading, but I have ordered just about everything we need for the baby, and am beginning to get everything organized for the hospital bags, so that is some serious progress!

33 Weeks Pregnant: Then and now…

It is so funny to see this comparison! I am feeling so BIG this week, but its not too different from when I was pregnant with my first son!
