30 weeks pregnant and only 10 weeks to go (plus or minus a few). This means that, from this point forward, our countdown is going to be in the single digits! Yikes! But I am finally making some progress in regard to preparing for the little one, and it feels great!
At 30 Weeks Pregnant…
How big is baby? 30 weeks pregnant, baby is the size of a zucchini: about 15.7 inches, and 2.89 pounds. Lately, however, he feels so much bigger! I can tell he is getting cramped!
Weight gain: I haven’t been using the scale to monitor my weight, but I have been much more aware of my activity level, and eating, so hopefully I can slow this weight gain down a bit.
Symptoms: My stomach is feeling really tight, and really stretched. My skin has been peeling, no matter what moisturizers or oils I use. And I have been so incredibly exhausted. Back pain is definitely getting worse, as well!
Appointments: No appointments this week, but just over a week until our next appointment, for my 32 week appointment! And I am officially scheduled for the remaining appointments, as well!
What I’m loving about pregnancy: I have been working hard to stay more connected and present in this pregnancy. The little guy is just so active each day, and I already feel like he has so much personality. And each week I think it is becoming more and more real for Brooks as well. He loves to rub and tickle my belly, and to feel his little brother move around. I am just so excited to see how he reacts once the baby arrives.
What I’m missing most during pregnancy: I am still missing sleep. I am so tired, all day. And, because of my work situation, I am unable to nap when Brooks does. So, from 4 or 5 am to 9 or 10 pm, it is just go, go, go time. I feel like it is starting to wear on me a bit. I am so grateful, however, that my husband has been forcing me to take a little me time each day.
Cravings and Aversions: I have been a lot better in terms of controlling my cravings this week. I have just been so, so hungry, all the time! And I have been so tired, that I’m having a hard time mustering enough energy to cook dinner. So I am trying to focus on easy, nutrient dense foods, instead of junk!
I am looking forward to: I am really looking forward to our next appointment, especially because my OB is back from maternity leave! And I am so excited for the end of November, when we will see the little one via ultrasound!
Staying fit: I made it to the gym once this week! And I can definitely feel the difference in my body after avoiding the gym for the last few weeks. I really struggled with back pain while on the treadmill. Hopefully next week I can be more consistent!
Our family: As I mentioned above, we are all getting excited, and ready, for the baby! He will be here before we know it. And my husband is helping me with preparing, and making sure everything is ready for the little one! We are also making some subtle adjustments for Brooks, now, to ease him into the changes that are coming.
Currently reading: No change here! I have been slacking over the past few weeks, working on the baby’s blanket, But I am also currently looking for a birth preferences template, and will be reading Natural Hospital Birth again, soon!
