Yikes. I missed a week! You may notice that I didn’t do a post at 21 weeks. It was a crazy week, and life really just got away from me! But we are back at 22 weeks pregnant! Its crazy to think that we have only 18 weeks left to go (if baby waits that long).
At 22 Weeks Pregnant…
How big is baby? 22 weeks pregnant, baby is the size of a coconut.
Sex/gender: of the baby? It is a boy!
Weight gain: So I have gained about four more pounds over the last few weeks, bringing my total to somewhere around 14 weeks, I think!
Symptoms: I have been having some pretty bad back pain, especially while on the treadmill, or sitting and working. This has also been accompanied by some sharper pains in my abdomen, which I am chalking up to round ligament pains. Oh, and holy heartburn. This little dude is going to have some hair, too! Otherwise I am feeling pretty good!
Appointments: We still have about two weeks until our next appointment, which will be a low key appointment. We will just be checking babies heartbeat, and chatting. My regular OB is going to be out of town (boo), too.
What I’m loving about pregnancy: This is one of those weeks where I am starting to like my pregnant body again. Clothes are a bit more flattering, and my tummy isn’t so flabby anymore. But nothing is comfortable at this point.
What I’m missing most during pregnancy: With the intensity of the past two weeks, I am missing wine, terrible. Being a pregnant woman, there just isn’t anything you can do to “take the edge off” after a tough day at work.
Cravings and Aversions: Lord help me…I cannot get enough spicy chicken sandwiches. Mind you, I am trying to stick to a vegetarian diet, but this baby has other plans. I am partial to Burger King’s version right now. I seriously need to stop!
I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to October, really. And little man’s birthday this month, of course. But September is a really intense time at work, and I am feeling really worn out right now. And it is only the first full week of the month.
Staying fit: I didn’t do well this week, either. I made it to the gym to work out only once. I have been so tired, and just haven’t had any motivation to go to the gym, at all. Hopefully I can get back on track next week.
Our family: We continue to face some sleep issues with Brooks, but things have gotten a bit better. He is just in a phase where he does not want to sleep. Period. And it has been a bit stressful, but hopefully this phase will come to an end soon!
Currently reading: I am halfway done with Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Childbirth. I secretly wish I could drive to Tennessee with my little family, and give birth on The Farm. It won’t happen of course, but what an amazing experience that would be. I am still searching for a book on Hypnobirthing. I would love to buy the whole program but it is expensive, so I am looking for some alternative resources, instead.
