My Baby Bump Week to Week: 35 Weeks

Today, it hit me. There are only a few weeks left before we get to meet our little man. Who knows, this could be my last baby bump post. Or, there could be six more posts. Regardless, we are coming to the end. This is a bittersweet thought. Yes, I am miserable, large and swollen. But I love having this little baby growing inside of me, and I love being able to feel him move and kick.  I am super excited to meet him, and see his sweet little face.

How far along: 35 Weeks

How big is baby: Baby is the size of a coconut.

Gender: Its a boy!

Weight gain: As of today, I have officially gained 33 pounds! Not too bad!

Maternity clothes: I purchased a pretty new dress for my baby shower, but it was on back order. I was so disappointed.  I also scored a pair of comfy palazzo pants from JC Penney. They aren’t maternity, but they fit! And they feel like pajamas!

Sleep: Same ole, same ole. Sleep comes and goes. When it is cooler outside, I sleep much better. I am still really struggling with hip pain!

Best moment this week: Oh where do I begin? This week has been so full of great moments. To begin, we had our ultrasound last week. Of course, the little guy was squirmy and stubborn, so we couldn’t see his face. But we were able to see that he is healthy! He is a bit big, in the 70% percentile. And he was breech, but, since last week’s appointment, he has assumed his head down position!

This weekend, my mom hosted our baby shower. The shower was absolutely beautiful.  We are still overwhelmed by the love and generosity of our friends and family. Our little guy is so lucky to have such wonderful people who love him so much already!

Finally, last night, we finished our fourth and final childbirth class. I know my husband and I left the class feeling as prepared as we can be. We are both comfortable with our selected birth plan, and we have some idea as to what to expect throughout the birthing process.

Miss anything: I miss having feet that are not swollen. And I miss having energy!

Movement: He is still moving consistently! And his movements continue to be big.  I notice that he is especially active during childbirth classes! I wonder what he is trying to tell me.

Cravings: I am getting more and more used to my low carb/low sugar diet. For the time being, I don’t really have any strange cravings beyond iced tea.

Symptoms: Most of my symptoms are still the same; swollen feet and hands, achy fingers and ankles, and sore hips. I have also been experiencing nausea, especially at night.

Looking forward to: Of course I am looking forward to meeting this little guy. In the meantime, I am excited to wash baby clothes, organize the baby items, and begin to put our nursery together!
