My Baby Bump Week to Week: 33 Weeks

Moving into the final weeks of this pregnancy, I am becoming more and more uncomfortable. At week 33, my baby bump is larger than ever. And, at this stage, there are so many emotions. I can’t wait to meet our little man, but I know that once he is born I am going to miss having him in my tummy.

DurianHow far along: 33 Weeks

How big is baby: Baby is the size of a durian. I know what you are thinking. What is a durian? This is a durian.

Gender: Its a boy!

Weight gain: My guess is that it I have gained around 26 pounds. These last few weeks, I feel like most of this weight gain is actually the baby. He feels so heavy!

Maternity clothes: I am on a search for a cute, comfy dress to wear for my baby shower, but I am having a hard time. I live in a town with limited maternity wear options. Internet shopping it is!

Sleep: Sleep is still the same. I notice there are a few things that really stand in the way of a good night’s sleep: heat, sodium, stress. If its too hot at night, or if I have too much sodium, sleep just doesn’t happen. And I sleep much better on the weekends, which tells me weekday stress is a problem.

Best moment this week: We attended our second birthing class this week, complete with a tour of the birthing center. I am impressed with how progressive and open they are in terms of labor and delivery. These classes have been incredibly informative, and eye-opening for my husband and I. And, we have changed our original thinking in terms of our preferences and our birth plan.  I am so glad we decided to enroll.

Miss anything: I am still missing my wedding rings, and my ankles. I am also really missing being able to climb stairs without being winded!

Movement: This week we have had some quieter days, where I was definitely worried about our little guy. Then, he was as active as ever!  He just likes to worry me a bit.

Cravings: I don’t have many cravings right now. Instead, I am struggling to eat enough. Between exhaustion and the heat, I’m just not so hungry.

Symptoms: I am still struggling with swelling, especially in my feet. Recently, at the doctor’s office, my feet were as large as I had ever seen them. I was so embarrassed!

Looking forward to: We are looking forward to our appointment with the doctor next Wednesday, and an ultrasound on Thursday. We are also looking forward to our last two childbirth classes. Our baby shower is quickly approaching too! I am excited to see our friends and family, and celebrate the new addition!
