It is week 31 for my baby bump, and it has been a tough week in terms of comfort. The heat, combined with my nesting instincts, is doing me no favors. Sometimes, I forget how pregnant I am. Then I try to do too much. And I pay for it for days. But each week we are more and more prepared for our little guy’s arrival!
How far along: 31 Weeks
How big is baby: Baby is the size of a pineapple
Gender: Its a boy!
Weight gain: According to my scale, I have gained 26 pounds!
Maternity clothes: Nothing new to report here!
Sleep: Sleep is getting increasingly difficult. That is little man’s favorite time to practice moving, stretching, punching and ninja kicks.
Best moment this week: This week we have begun to work on “baby stuff.” We put our stroller together, and took the carseat out of the box. Today, we received our bassinet and I cannot wait to put it together. Now, if baby should come early, we have the necessities!
Miss anything: I miss my ankles. And sleep. And cool weather!
Movement: As I mentioned above, the movement is constant! I read that, at this point, babies begin to develop a sleep/wake cycle. His doesn’t seem to be consistent as of yet!
Cravings: This week’s cravings are basically the same! I am craving sweets and carbs, like crazy!
Symptoms: This week, the swelling in my ankles, feet and hands is much worse. My ankles are so swollen they are sore. I am trying to drink extra water, and keep my feet elevated. This seems to be working!
Looking forward to: There is so much to look forward to. Next week, we start our childbirth classes. I hope to work on some more DIY projects as well!
