Baby Bump: Week to Week

My Baby Bump Week to Week: 30 Weeks

30 week baby bump

Here we are with only 10 weeks to go. Or, as a friend put it, only 10 more Fridays until we get to meet baby.  Yikes, I can’t believe we are at 30 weeks of tracking this baby bump, week to week!

How far along: 30 Weeks

How big is baby: Baby is the size of a cucumber

Gender: Its a boy!

Weight gain: I haven’t stepped on the scale in the last week. My guess is that I am holding steady at 25 pounds, especially since I have been watching my diet carefully!

Maternity clothes: Nothing new to report here!

Sleep: Sleep is still very inconsistent, and I am expecting it will be this way for the remaining 10 weeks. I do notice that if I don’t sleep well one night, I feel miserable the next day.

Best moment this week: While this is not baby related, we had an excellent weekend. We saw a few movies (Trainwreck and Antman) both of which were pretty darn good, and we enjoyed a nice lunch on a patio.

Miss anything: Sweets and carbs. Last week, after failing my second gestational diabetes screening, I have been told to eat a low carb, low sugar diet until I can see my doctor again. I can tell you that a restrictive diet and pregnancy hormones are not a good mix. I apologize to anyone and everyone who has to deal with me, in advance.

Movement: Our little boy is consistently moving around. I am so grateful for this, as it really calms my anxiety. Feeling him move around is very reassuring. Some of his movements are becoming more and more surprising, catching me off guard and taking my breath away. Poor little guy is definitely squished in there.

Cravings: All things sweet and full of carbs. I dream of bagels, ice cream and cookies. But I have been pretty good about abstaining.

Symptoms: I am starting to feel some sharp twinges in my lower abdomen. I am guessing these are just the result of stretching and growing. My hands feet and ankles tend to swell more often as well.

Looking forward to: I am looking forward to working on our nursery, and to the final preparations before we get to meet our little man!
