Its week 27 and we are getting closer and closer to little man’s arrival. And honestly, I don’t feel even close to being prepared. I think its time for me to get it together. Here is whats new in week 27 of my baby bump week to week.
How far along: 27 Weeks
How big is baby: Baby is the size of a rutabaga
Gender: Its a boy!
Weight gain: Depending on the day, I am up between 22 and 24 pounds. This is really dependent upon how much water I am retaining (which has been a LOT).
Maternity clothes: My only purchase this week: a maternity swimsuit. Stay tuned to find out whether or not this was a worthwhile purchase.
Sleep: Cooler evenings, and occasional rain showers, have meant cooler evenings. And cooler evenings mean quality sleep. At this point, however, I just never wake up feeling rested.
Best moment this week: This week has been pretty uneventful as well. Each day continues to be wonderful as I feel little man move around! I have also started working on my first nursery crafts (blog post coming soon)!
Miss anything: I am still missing the usual things; beer, patios and sleep.
Movement: This little guy’s movements continue to change. I love when a hand or foot moves across my abdomen. And I love being able to push and poke the little lumps he creates, and watch his reactions.
Cravings: My cravings continue to be the same. I crave Mexican food, ice cream, and caramel ribbon crunch frapuccinos from Starbucks.
Symptoms: My new symptom this week: swelling. When I wake up in the morning, I have normal legs, ankles, feet and hands. By the end of the day, my legs are painfully swollen. This seems to be a direct result of the heat, and perhaps the white cheddar popcorn I’ve been devouring.
Looking forward to: We are looking forward to our appointment next week and entering the third trimester. As my mom says, every day he is in my tummy means he is just that much stronger and more developed. Its crazy to thing that we are almost there! Most importantly, my handsome husband and I will be celebrating our first anniversary on the 4th of July. Oh how time flies!
