Our baby is the size of a cauliflower, and it certainly feels like it. As we near the end of the second trimester, we are becoming more and more excited for the arrival of our little man. And life has been a bit busy, hence the reason that week 25 of my baby bump week to week is a bit late. Better late than never!
How far along: 25 Weeks
How big is baby: Baby is the size of a cauliflower.
Gender: Its a boy!
Weight gain: At our doctors appointment yesterday, I was up 20 pounds. That is exactly where I had hoped to be.
Maternity clothes: As the weather gets warmer and warmer, I am realizing that I am still lacking summer clothes. I had purchased a few items at Target last week. Unfortunately, they are not working out as I had hoped.
Sleep: Sleep is still pretty infrequent. And, with the addition of heat, it has been even more difficult. Over the past few nights, the little guy gets especially active at bed time, and keeps kicking and punching me well into the evening!
Best moment this week: The best moment this week was our six month appointment. It is always a relief to hear that the little guy is growing as he should, and that everything looks healthy. We were able to hear his heartbeat as well, which always eases my mind. I also enjoyed a nice day with my mom, complete with pedicures and tasty Mexican food…exactly what I needed.
Miss anything: My sleep. I am really missing my sleep. I am finding that I don’t handle exhaustion well. My mind is fuzzy, and I can tell my emotions are running high. Hopefully I will find relief soon.
Movement: Movement has become much more consistent. I can predict the times when he will be most active, and the positions in which I can feel him best. I am also noticing that his movements are less jerky, and more fluid. I can feel his hands, elbows and feet glide across my stomach, or down my side.
Cravings: I am still craving ice cream, in addition to all other sweets.
Symptoms: This week my worst symptoms have been the back and hip pain. My goal is to add more movement to each day to see if that eases some of the pain and discomfort.
Looking forward to: At this point I am looking forward to each and every day. It seems like time is moving too quickly, so I simply intend to enjoy each and every day that this little boy is in my tummy. September will be here soon enough.
