Happy New Year! I don’t know about you, but 2016 was a doozy. It wasn’t all bad, of course. My husband and I have been able to watch our little munchkin grow, and flourish. Every day we see him learn and try something new. Our family is happy, healthy and comfortable. Our house is full of so much love. In this regard, life is good.
2016 felt heavy, tedious, and defeating. Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, the world feels overwhelmingly negative. 2017 is going to be different. Not because of any outside forces, or a change in the world. We just don’t have control over such things. We can only control the thoughts and energy we put out into the universe, and how we respond to circumstances.
When I think about the changes I would like to make in 2017, the list feels overwhelming. Where do I start? Is it even possible to do it all? In Gretchen Rubin’s The Happiness Project, she takes an overwhelming to-do list and makes it manageable by focusing on one goal each month. So, that is what I am going to do. I plan to tackle my lengthy list, one goal at a time.
Since I have thirteen goals, and there are only twelve months in the year, I will be focusing on one goal, blogging more, all year. My hope is to keep track of this process, in addition to blogging about the other things I love: my family, crafts and cooking! And best of all, I have to be accountable to my blog and my readers. So…here we go!
Stay tuned as I dive into month one of my 2017 Goals: Spend Less!
Happy New Year, y’all!
