My Baby Bump Week to Week: 12 Weeks

This week, we were so happy to announce our pregnancy to our family and friends. Our little one will be here near the end of September.  Now that the we have “spilled the beans,” I am very excited to be journaling about my baby bump week to week, starting with week 12. Each week, I will reflect on the same questions, to document this exciting journey!

How far along: 12 Weeks

How big is baby: Baby is the size of a plum

Gender: We won’t be finding out until 20 weeks. Only 8 more weeks to go!

Weight gain: 3 to 5 lbs. Depending on the day, and the time of day!

Maternity clothes: I have been living in leggings and yoga pants. On Saturday, I finally purchased my first pair of maternity jeans. They are super cute, and super comfortable. Why did I wait so long?

Sleep: Sleep is NO problem. But, I am exhausted all day, every day!

Best moment this week: There were two amazing moments this week. The first was seeing Baby jumping around during our 12 week ultrasound. The little jumping bean, as my husband calls it, wouldn’t stay still long enough to get a good picture! I was so relieved to see that the baby is right on track. The second was being able to share our exciting news with friends and family, finally.

Miss anything: I miss having a beer every now and then. I was not that big of a drinker, but as the weather warms up, I miss having a drink on a patio with my guy.

Movement: While I can’t feel anything yet, we were able to see the baby moving and jumping all around on the ultrasound. Baby Walker has lots of energy!

Cravings: Jimmy Johns Beach Club Sandwich (I know, its forbidden), Mini-SweetTarts, orange juice and and fruit. Lots of fruit.

Symptoms: Oh, my goodness. The bloat! In the morning I have a little bump. By bedtime, I look like I am six months pregnant. Rumor has it that the bloat should subside soon.

Looking forward to: I am looking forward to moving into the second trimester, with less severe symptoms, and a bit more energy!
